Putting the snow plow on

Recommended Posts

Paul Moore

I have a 520-H.  When I tried to put the plow on, I found that the hole that the pin on the lift arm goes through is to small.  I noticed that this is removable.  Is there another adapter that is big enough to fit?  Or do I just have to drill it bigger?

Welcome to the forum.

The pin in the lift arm is not used for the dozer blade - mower decks only.

You need a short lift link to connect to that arm or a long lift link to go up to the lever on the rock shaft. The long link does not work well for the hydraulic lift models. The only float allowance is in a slotted hole in the plow lift bracket but it does allow for down pressure on the blade.

Short lift link shown on page 6

WHX??

I don't run a plow, blower man myself but a lot of the guys here do run a plow on 520's so hopefully they will chime in as well.

Here's the lift arm and plow.  There's a hole further back on the lift arm. Will that work?

Yes sir in that hole, that's exactly where the silver short link pins into on the lift lever, it uses a 3/8" diameter clevis pin or bolt just like it's pinned to the blade frame with, Jeff.

also to get that extra lift you may need to change where the trunnion (20) goes into (19)

Lift links come in two lengths.

I always thought that the mower lift arm is to be removed and then the bell used, the mower arm seems to get in the way of my plow
