1045 ???

Recommended Posts

Achto

I picked up another tractor today. Trying to decide if I should part out, save for a custom project, or if it is what I think it is (1045) restore. If I ignore the decals it looks to be a 1045. It could also be just something thrown together.  I'm looking for opinions from this educated group. What do you guys think it is?

If the serial number is 62-2385x with the last digit not readable it is a 1963 serial number.

Horses are tough but I'm not sure they would hold up to a 396,426,440. 454, or 460:D( think I covered the big 3's popular big block's.) But maybe with a right angle gear box....and.....:confusion-confused:

I agree with Mutt. I guess I was wishing for a 1045 more than thinking 1045. What can I say one can hope for a great deal / find, right? The more I look at it I'm thinking 653 with different front sheet metal, maybe different frame. I noticed no parking brake, front hood mount like my 867 and only 3 bolt hubs. Well I might have an idea for a custom job, will not reveal till I get a start on it though. Some thing short & fat I'm thinking. :handgestures-thumbup:

Sounds like it could be the best 7 seconds of my life! :auto-layrubber::handgestures-thumbupright:   158mph is my top speed so far, I'd be willing to try topping that. Well..... maybe not on a :wh:.

WHX??

Nice Dan...Def a mutt but the fenders & tranny I'm sure were worth the price. Given your fab skills and the looks your other rat rod gets...I'm thinking another HF powered rat? Maybe a repulley for some ski speed!? ?!? Since I'm watching the Pack and sucking a cold one paint in green & gold!!!

I'm not ready to put a car engine in a :wh: but...Any thing worth doing is worth over doing. This is not my tractor but this is what happens when "Do I need it? " turns into "I want it."DSCN1065.jpg

Usable? Practicable? Maybe not. Cool as heck?B) I sure think so!

Dan, the right engine and that would make a fun show machine. Especially at the big WH shows---almost a WHAT IF???  I don't know what you'll do but I can't wait to see!:techie-eureka: :handgestures-thumbupright:

She's a lady in waiting for now.IMG_20161106_091519874-min.jpg

On the bottom left is an 8 1/2hp Wisconsin/Robin diesel that needs a home, I'm kinda kicking around trying to install it in the mutt. I might have to alter a lil sheet metal to get it done. If I can't make it fit then I guess I can grab some thing else off the shelf.

Yep! I dumped my whole garage into the driveway and started over. After organizing I think I can get a few more things in there. In fact I filled one hole with an HD bagger that needs some top end work. Should mean more :wh: $ for me.
