farmerall 23 #1 Posted January 5, 2009 Yesterday I went to look at a Wheel Horse B111 that I found on craigslist and it ended up following me home. This is my first wheel horse and I am only 16 so I will have time to collect a lot more of them. One question I have is was thois a good tractor to buy and what year range was this model made in. I added pics further down the page too.
bell 11 #2 Posted January 5, 2009 :D I'm not familiar with the B-111.... so I'll let someone else answer your questions. In my opinion though... if it says Wheel Horse, or Work Horse... it's GOOD! You're going to love this place and, if you get a chance, :hide:
farmerall 23 #3 Posted January 5, 2009 I tried to add pics but it wouldn't let me

Teddy da Bear 11 #8 Posted January 5, 2009 :hide: Yes like that Martha Stewart says: "wheel horse, that's a good thing" (ok maybe she never actually included wheel horse) I believe a B-111 would make it a 1979 model.

Sparky-(Admin) 19,542 #10 Posted January 5, 2009 In the Redsquare Picture Gallery there is a picture of a 1978 and a 1979 model B-111........if anyone isnt sure what they look like. Mike........
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,345 #11 Posted January 5, 2009 As Sparky indicated, the B-111 was made in 1978 and 1979. And as noted above, they were vertical shaft LAWN tractors. Not as durable nor versatile as the garden tractors. It had a 11 hp Briggs and the 1978 models only had a 4 speed Peerless transmission, while the 1979 models had the 4 speed Peerless and there was also a 6 speed Foote (Dana) transmission model. Oh, btw, :hide:
Buzz 502 #12 Posted January 5, 2009 Wheel Horse classified the B-111 as a lawn tractor not a garden tractor meaning it wasn't designed to run a tiller, a snowthrower, or a garden plow. It was mainly for mowing the grass, towing carts, or plowing light snow. Still it's a Wheel Horse and better than most of the newer ones sold today. It's a good one to get started on. Here's the years and model numbers: 1978 4-speed 82-11BP01 1979 6-speed 92-11BF01 1979 4-speed 92-11BP01 You can see a parts breakdown of your tractor here. Just enter your model number: https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/index.cfm?xCaller=Toro You can download a service manual for the B, C, a D series tractors here: https://lookup3.toro.com/request/getpub1.cf...&PubType=9&rev= The Briggs owners manual: http://www.briggsandstratton.com/pdf/owner...62-Domestic.pdf The Briggs parts list: http://www.briggsandstratton.com/pdf/illus.../100/MS6929.pdf Enjoy your restoration and keep us posted. :hide:

Ross 0 #24 Posted October 28, 2019 So I recently just bought a 1978 wheel horse B 111 4 speed and I took the transmission apart to get all of the contaminated oil out and the shift forks fell out does anyone which way they go back in?

Hi Ross and welcome to Redsquare. Go ahead and post a new thread in the transmission section and someone should be able to help you out with that.
