Detector 72 #1 Posted October 3, 2016 I'm a bit puzzled! I removed a retaining ring from the PTO lever with my snap ring pliers last month , the shaft was lightly sanded primed & painted, I installed my hood stand today and looked at the lever and cannot find any groove the retaining ring fits in? I took my razor and cut the paint as you can see in my pic, the shaft is slick... Perhaps it just grips the shaft
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,485 #2 Posted October 3, 2016 Think you may be correct. It is called a grip ring in the parts list https://www.partstree.com/parts/toro/mowers-lawn-garden-tractor/21-12ke01-312-a-toro-312-a-garden-tractor-1986/pto-clutch-and-control/ Garry
Detector 72 #3 Posted October 3, 2016 Thanks, sure enough a its called a grip ring, I thought my paint was thick and hid the groove, oh well I'll redo the part. Next time I'll surely ask first. Again thank you
