Why 2 holes on each side of Suburban hood

Recommended Posts

Skeeters65

I have a 1960 Suburban and it has 2 holes on either side of the hood where it mounts to the hood support.

Why 2 holes and not 1?

Am I missing something?

Thanks

Yep  two is one too many from original.    Check the manuals on the RJ's and Suburbans and there is only one hole on each side and two on top of the  hood frame.

Mine doesn't have any on the top.

It is a 400 not an RJ. Does that matter?

Thanks

Yes. Your 400 will have the obvious holes for the fuel tank, the steering column and the rectangular opening for the throttle/choke controls. You may or may not have a hole just to the right of the steering column. Anything else isn't supposed the be there. :)

Oh the two holes for gas and steering.

I thought those were obvious. I thought he was saying there should be 2 holes on top for mounting hood to steering brace.

I will be filling the 2 I'm not using.

Thanks
