The 12Hp pan should have tapped holes on the right side that fall on the frame.  The clearance holes on the pan ears are not used on the right side.

Use a 'J' bolt  (3/8")..   Hook the 'J' to the frame.   Whgeelhorse uses these In some places.

Here's pics of 3 different tractors with 12HP motors.

But there are pans that do not have the tapped holes in the bottom to put bolts from the bottom up.

I found that out this summer !!!!!!                  If no tapped holes then use J-bolts.

I was not aware there are pans without the tapped mounting holes. But If I had one, I would make two  angle brackets bolted to the frame and the ears on the pan.

Just not a fan of J-bolts on cantilevered cast iron ears.   :twocents-02cents:

Yep.... made the motor transplant a little more difficult ... had to change pans.

Modifying the hood may be easier than moving the motor.  If you move the motor the belt will be shorter and the guard will need modified.  And the PTO lever.

I think it's a GT14 air filter.  That's what is on my C101.

The motor is off a Gravely .... probably why it didn't have the tapped holes.

And the air cleaner is off a GT14.

I wasn't sure if it was going to fit but it was perfect!

¼" clearance top and front.  It will still be OK after the dent in the hood gets straightened.

I've never had any problems like that. Measure the hole distance from bolt lug on base to clutch side base to block. Maybe you can remove engine base and drill thebase>block hole through and it will match. I understand it has been done. Alternative is to try an "A" base engine.
