Lol not fresh paint  I brought it home in the rain.   The only thing that confuses me is that it says it is a 8 speed.  My raider 10 is a 6 speed with the same gear pattern.  I'm guessing they counted the two reverse gears

For all practical purposes the 6 and 8 speeds are the same. Yes, they counted the reverse gears on the ones they called the 8 speeds. There are some differences as far as which shaft the brake drum is mounted on. Compare the two and you'll see what I mean. There are several opinions as to why they changed to calling them 8 speeds but I don't think there's a definite answer. It's the same for the 3 speed and 4 speed. It's the brake drum location again. That could be evidence why they call them 6 speeds, 8 speeds, 3 speeds and 4 speeds. :)

Yep all there.  He had it rebuilt and lost interest

Here are a few pix of the engine.  It's a 11 hp briggs.    I like the distinctive sound of a kohler but it will do.
