bell 11 #1 Posted December 27, 2008 Can someone with a 1045 take a pic (or 2) of the mounting tabs for the belt guard? (the small tabs on the frame that the belt guard bolt to... I believe there are 2 ) Mine are missing... I'm looking for a detailed pic of what they look like and the dimensions... and measurements for placement. Thanks in advance... :omg:
Brian1045 28 #2 Posted December 27, 2008 There is only the 1 tab in front at the top cut-away of the guard. This is crude but it may help get you started. Attached Image (Click thumbnail to expand)
Brian1045 28 #3 Posted December 27, 2008 I just figured out, you meant the tabs on the frame itself. :imstupid: :hide:

gamaemry305 0 #10 Posted December 29, 2008 Tractor View (Looking very optimistic for snow in NC) Belt Cover Minus Belt Guard Measurement taken from left side of idler shaft. The previous post had much better pictures and a 1045 with both guard supports. I didn't realize that I was missing one of my supports until viewing Bell's pictures. I think I would manufacture the supports bolt them to the guard and then mark the locations using the belt guard to set the location. I hope this helps a little. bell 11 #11 Posted December 29, 2008 That helps a LOT!!! Can you measure the distance from the frame to where the belt guard sits on the tab? That is a good idea about bolting the tabs to the belt guard, then I'll tack them in place. I guess I'll partially reassemble it... should make things a little easier. THANKS FELLAS! :hide:
bell 11 #12 Posted December 29, 2008 BTW, gamaemry, that's a BEAUTIFUL 1045 you have there! And, don't think I've seen you around here before...
BPjunk 184 #13 Posted December 29, 2008 Jon, The lower drive belt guard mounting tab is also missing off my 1045, what I plan on doing is cutting a tab off another scrap frame then welding it to the 1045. I hope to have the 1045 serial number dates some time after the New Year .... that's a lot of information to look up. Wild Bill in Richmond, Va.
bell 11 #14 Posted December 29, 2008 Bill, both of mine are gone... and someone welded a bolt to the frame in place of one of them... I know I've gotta get busy on it... The wife gave me permission to do the final assembly (all work after paint) in the spare room of the house... I explained how the paint would cure MUCH better in a climate controlled room... June's gonna be here before you know it... and I gotta take the 1045 to PA with me... along with the 753, the 633, the suburban and the 7-2111 wagon..... OH BOY, I GOTTA GET BUSY! lol
Brian1045 28 #15 Posted December 29, 2008 Jon, On mine, from the backside of the front tab it's around 1 3/4" to the frame. Now on the back tab, it is around 2" to the frame. You would think the distance would be the same. When everyhing is mounted it look fine though. Notice the angle of the back tab
bell 11 #17 Posted January 18, 2009 Here's some belt guard info I got from kelly... I figure'd this would be a good place to put it... Thanks kelly! The belt guard on the right is from my 1045, the one in the middle is 552, (going on my 603 correct part no.) the one on the left is a small block kohler powered short frame diff. between the tecumseh and small kohler guards diff. between the 1045 and small kohler
sorekiwi 761 #18 Posted January 18, 2009 Or when you just swapped your last Kohler belt guard for a Tecunseh one, then decided you'd put a Kohler in there after all, you can do this: http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?...5758&hl=adapter
