Griff 17 #1 Posted August 8, 2016 I need a voltage regulator for my Robin DY41D engine, I've scoured the inter web but have got nowhere. Can anyone suggest a place to look, or a post on RS to search out that will help. I don't suppose you US guys can help as the tractor didn't make it across the pond but you just never know. Thanks, Griff.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,496 #2 Posted August 8, 2016 Does your charging system look like the one described in the operator manual? 12 volt 31 watts @ 3600 rpm. That is only 3 amps. If you have 2 wires coming from the stator to the regulator and a DC output the most common 15 amp regulator used on the Kohlers should work. They are grounded by the mounting screws. The small ones are cooled by mounting them in the flywheel blower housing so cooling air is blown across the back of them. Large regulators are just cooled by their cooling fins and ambient air. Griff 17 #3 Posted August 8, 2016 The tractor's not here at the moment, I'll probably pick it up tomorrow and will be able to say what wires are which to give you a better idea. Thanks for the help.
Griff 17 #4 Posted August 14, 2016 Noticed yesterday three dry battery cells. Filled them up and will see if she keeps her charge. Might not need the regulator.
