Detector 72 #1 Posted July 27, 2016 I replaced my fuel lines last week and the fuel shut off valve would not stop a steady stream, I turned it in and out a few times but it would not shut off fuel flow. I ordered a new Toro fuel valve and grommet. Is this pretty straight forward pull the old valve out, pull old bushing from the plastic tank and reinstall? Any sealer or vaseline on rubber bushing...Thought I'd ask just to be sure. Thanks
JERSEYHAWG / Glenn 4,487 #2 Posted July 27, 2016 I have replaced the one on my 416-8. Valve and grommet. No lubrication of anykind. Straightforward as you stated. Voila,,,,no leaks,,,,works as it should. Others might do it differant. Good luck. Glenn
Sparky-(Admin) 19,540 #3 Posted July 27, 2016 When you do the install stick the grommet in the tank first...then push in the shutoff valve. Don't assemble the valve and grommet and then try to shove it in the tank as one piece. Mike....
