Is there anyway way to stop it from going back in all the time other than a vice grips

As I have time and money I try to convert to the lever style throttles.  Fixes on the others always seem to give way after a short time.  In the interim this redneck fix works and is cheap...one clip = fast idle 2 clips = mowing speed.

If it creeps in even after turning the knob clock wise to tighten it, then replacement is the only good cure. I got an aftermarket one from pesp.biz and it has been working great for me. ROT9135 is the part number about $9

Should work. Just make sure that it is long enough for the job, you can make them shorter if needed but you can't make it longer.

Didnt the older style pull throttle have a twist to lock function? The 875 i have kept doing the same thing then i pulled it out and twisted it clockwise about 2 turns.
