Sam Coachhouse 0 #1 Posted July 3, 2016 I bought my first wheel horse c125. Been doing a great job towing and cutting. The other day the clutch Spring broke. I did a temporary fix to cut the grass but was getting slower and slower to the point I had to pull the clutch pedal towards me to get it moving. I have bought a new spring. But it is still so slow and I have to pull the clutch to me to get it moving at all. Could it be something else ?
rmaynard 14,893 #2 Posted July 3, 2016 Could be a bad belt.

Sam Coachhouse 0 #4 Posted July 4, 2016 I've not tried the belt you. Can that effect the speed. The Spring seems just as strong.
rmaynard 14,893 #5 Posted July 4, 2016 The belt is covered with fabric. If it get degraded the belt can stretch. I would try a new one just to rule it out. Not sure what is available across the pond, but in the absence of a genuine Toro 7473 belt, any Kevlar covered 5/8" x 82" belt works well.
Road-Track 39 #6 Posted July 11, 2016 Also check the idler gear for the drive belt. It should spin smoothly without a wobble. Toro 7473 is one of the numbers for it (bought one two days ago when i replaced my C-165 drive belt for the same problems. Works great now!
