Hey all, does anyone know if the rims on early production RJ-35s were black or not?

Nope...one of these three here...

either antique white, almond, and, or linen beige.

Thanks Craig. I'm thinking of painting the rims on mine black like this awesome looking RJ. Should I? What looks better? The black or white?

Your tractor to do with what works best for you.

I'm just sayin', because you asked...

the '57's rims weren't black from the :wh: factory.

Personally I like the black better...that's the nice thing about our hobby...it's YOUR tractor paint them up however YOU want...if you ever sell it and the next owner doesn't like it he can always repaint them however he wants it :happy-jumpeveryone:

Black for sure, I'm picking up a RJ 35 this weekend and it will have black wheels when I restore it!

So far to this day all original later 55 and all 56/57 RJ35's have been black with red seat. If originally the wheels were anything else mainly on a 1957 I haven't seen it yet. I'm sure at the very very end of 1957 they started trying the white color though. I just picked up a nice all original 1957 at the show and it's for black wheels.
