RedHorse54 578 #1 Posted July 1, 2016 Hey all, does anyone know if the rims on early production RJ-35s were black or not?
AMC RULES 36,945 #2 Posted July 1, 2016 Nope...one of these three here... either antique white, almond, and, or linen beige.

I'm thinking of painting the rims on mine black like this awesome looking RJ. Should I? What looks better? The black or white?
AMC RULES 36,945 #6 Posted July 1, 2016 Your tractor to do with what works best for you. I'm just sayin', because you asked... the '57's rims weren't black from the factory.
ClassicTractorProfessor 5,261 #7 Posted July 1, 2016 Personally I like the black better...that's the nice thing about our hobby...it's YOUR tractor paint them up however YOU want...if you ever sell it and the next owner doesn't like it he can always repaint them however he wants it

rj35hunter 281 #11 Posted July 1, 2016 So far to this day all original later 55 and all 56/57 RJ35's have been black with red seat. If originally the wheels were anything else mainly on a 1957 I haven't seen it yet. I'm sure at the very very end of 1957 they started trying the white color though. I just picked up a nice all original 1957 at the show and it's for black wheels.
