1054 looks to be a nice machine I've been eyeballing one on CL for a while now...guy says in his add that it is stuck in gear...so I'm kinda leery of it for the price he's asking

Surprising how heavy that Pirod commercial tower is..... Solid steel rod,

no tubing..... I think that 1054 could have hauled away with no dolly without even a cough.

A good heavy tractor is a handy thing to have when doing tower work for sure. Good job! N9MB since '77

Most of the time being stuck in gear is a quick simple fix. Have to loosen the Dogpoint screw, remove the shift lever, align the shift rails to neutral with a screw driver and put the shifter back in and adjust the dogpoint. Lots of threads including pictures on this site.

Lol we made the trip down there once when we bought my wife's Commando...I just hate to drive our old truck down there at 6 mpg and 2-2.50 a gallon gas to come back empty handed if it has something majorly wrong and he won't come off his price

Yep .... I had a Geo Metro.   Had to get rid of it after 10 years.   Floor rusted out.

And the Opel GT went to Nantucket.
