Bought a lawn ranger today. Almost wondering if it was worth the $60. Looks like it's missing a gas tank too. :/ idk thoughts from the pros?

Jarrett :  the rear tires are worth that !    The Lawn Ranger transmissions are usually good and the hood can be sandblasted back into a shiny one!    $60 is two dinners at Olive Garden !

I'm pretty green to a restore this in depth. You will have to stop by and educate me, Lane. It's going to need a lot of work. Figured I'd make it a slow project. Wasn't sure if I got hurt or not.

Man, I hope you guys are correct lol. I got it home and asked what I got myself into. But slow and steady wins the race. I can't wait to get going on it.

If the steering wheel is original to the tractor ,you have yourself a 1968 Lawn ranger.   Other than the engine, looks like most of it's there.

I'll also add, well worth the $60...in my opinion :).

At one time I had two -now down to one with the snowblower.  They are great tractors!

That Ranger was already restomodded at one time!  Battery under the seat?  Flip up seat?  Modified engine plate?

Good buy for $60.  That's what I'd offer.

The steering wheel is worth that.

If it were mine, I'd drop in a 8HP Kohler or a small diesel!  B)

I went to begin tearing it down. I had to drill the pin for the steering wheel and now I can't even get the steering wheel off! I don't want to damage the original intact steering wheel. Any suggestions?

I had to build a hydraulic press to get my 854 steering wheel off.

Do a search steering wheel removal. Lots of food advice.
