Uncle Buck 246 #53 Posted July 13, 2016 See if there is a McDonald house in close proximity to your son. No cost rooms for folks from out of town that have loved ones in the hospital. Prayers for the best for your son.
Ken B 3,116 #54 Posted July 13, 2016 I'm so happy to hear your son is making improvements, I can't imagine how hard this has been on all of you. Thankfully he has a place to stay. What is this Ford you speak of???

mels 174 #58 Posted April 8, 2017 Long overdue update: Hard to believe it's been nearly a year... Mark is out and doing better. Not able to live on his own as in many ways he's much like an average 12 year old. He'll be 30 in June. Girlfriend from before the incident has stuck with him and is caring for him. Things could be a lot better, BUT, they could also be much worse. Through the grace of God he is alive and able to visit, and enjoy a meal, and have a relatively decent conversation. Couldn't really ask for more than that. Been a while and man we've had a ton on our plate but things are looking up. Wanted to thank you all for all you support, Prayers, PM's, sharing of your own injuries and TBI experiences, it's all been good stuff and my Bride and I are truly grateful. Grace and peace!

WHX?? 46,707 #60 Posted April 8, 2017 Thanks for the update Mels and glad to hear things are at least a little better. Hats off to the BGF that is helping out ...she is truly a God's send and is proof our prayers do work in some small way. Will keep them forthcoming.
JimD 3,345 #61 Posted April 8, 2017 Thanks for the update. I can fully understand your wife's concern about travel distance to see him. It can be very hard and trying to maintain a relationship with him and the medical staff taking care of him. My heart goes out to you.

T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,337 #63 Posted April 8, 2017 Mels, Thanks for the update. It sounds like you have a positive attitude, which is truly needed in times like this. God told Paul, "My Grace is sufficient for thee!". Sometimes it's hard to see God's Grace when things go wrong, but as you mentioned in your post above, it could have been a lot worse. I'll still pray for Mark, his GF, and you and your wife through this ordeal.
