312-8 engine mounting trouble

This is my first wheel horse and i love the tractor other than one issue. So i bought a 1996 toro Wheel horse. I was mowing my lawn for the first time and noticed the motor was moving around too much. Upon further inspection the motor bolts were loose. I tightened them, but there was only 2 bolts present. I did more research and the chassis is a 96 according to the id tag and the motor is the correct  kohler 12 also manufactured in 96. Is there just two bolts that hold the engine in or am i crazy? on the PTO spindle side it looks like the engine bolt holes just hang off the tractor by like an inch and are way off. I thought i was missing some kind of engine mounting plate or something. I searched the internet and it lead me to this great wheel horse forum. I looked up a few schematics and they were not that helpful. Any help is appreciated. Below is a picture of her i had to pick it up it was very clean.

There are bolts coming up from under the frame into blind holes in the oil pan on the right side.

All the big block K-Series (10-16) are like that.

Racin bob thanks for the response, I tightened all the bolts back up and put on lock washers hopefully it wont get loose again. If it does i will use some red locktite on the threads.

1st of all, . I think I would use the blue Loctite in case you need to remove them sometime!

Don't use longer bolts, you may damage he bottom of the oil pan.

thanks for the info KC9KAS. I am glad to be apart of such a great tractor forum. I cant wait to get some attachments and use it around the yard. If i have to use locktite i will use the Blue like you suggested, the red is great just need to heat the bolts before it will come back off.

You've got a good lookin' Horse there.  Sounds like you are good to go now on your engine mounting.

You know, some of the engines use a "J" bolt in the right front (as you are sitting on the tractor) hole that hooks under the frame.....Just thinking out-loud...yeah I know that is dangerous!

I've seen some like that. Don't know if they got a batch of motors with the wrong oil pan, somebody swapped the motor, or if the owner just put it there not realizing the bolt was under the frame.

The Wheel Horse manual shows the "J" bolt and had a part number for it, so it was a factory made deal.

I put a magnum 12 in a C175 machine (series 1 kt17). The bolt holes in the frame lined right up to the threaded holes in the engine. 

Now if I can only get the safety switches figured out :-P.
