I have a plow for what I think is for an rj58 that I found today. Plow is brand new never restored or mounted. Any thoughts on this?

Maybe a Suburban, I'm not sure...

definitely not the same way my RJ's plow mounts. IMG_3017.JPG

Oh, here you go...

that mount looks like this one here for my '60 model 400.

Thanks! That looks like it's it. It mounts the way the one that came with it but maybe retrofit? My son is almost done restoring his RJ. Have everything but exhaust shield.

Yea, that's definitely for a Suburban. I'm thinking it won't mount to a RJ because of the front axle design but I'm not certain.

The HD-42 shows up in a February 1959 price list.

They did make a bracket to mount on the RJ to use those. It hangs below the frame and goes around the front axle.

Not plow related ,but could you check to see what paint matches up best (iH red or regal red ) . Maybe you could end the paint debate:angry-argument: but I doubt it .  Great score by the way , and your son has one sweet ride . :wicked:

Here is what the RJ bracket looks like. I know there are other better pictures of it on the forum, but I can't manage to find any at the moment.

Check out new pic of a hitch I painted with rustoleum sunrise red next to NOS plow.... closest I've gotten and identical in my opinion. I posted it in mods and restorations
