rmaynard 14,896 #2 Posted May 3, 2016 (edited) If it's a uni-drive, Lucas 80/90 should be fine. The recommended oil is SAE 90-140 API GL-5 gear lube. The tricycle front ends are all custom-made. Edited May 3, 2016 by rmaynard

Here is a thread on how one was done, do a search on this and other tractor sites and you will find others.
howell1000 35 #4 Posted May 3, 2016 Ok thanks for the info what about Lucas Oil/Heavy duty gear oil SAE 85W-140 it say it exceeds the all GL ratings and is great for older gear boxes ??
rmaynard 14,896 #5 Posted May 3, 2016 That one is a winner too. Some of the older gear boxes even called for 40W oil. Go figure. I have had good success with 90-140 gear lube or 80/90 in everything I own from my 1961 701 to my 1977 B-100. I really don't think it matters whether it's 80/90 or 90/140. I buy what is available at Walmart at the time I am in the market.
