dave s 0 #1 Posted December 15, 2008 If the lift cyl.,is dual action, why is the dozer blade lifted with a chain? Is there another application where the power DOWN feature is used? What would be the results if I installed a solid link in place of the chain? TT-(Moderator) 1,127 #2 Posted December 15, 2008 You CAN replace the chain with a solid lift link, but be forewarned - the control valve does not have a "float" detent and gouging becomes a problem when using dozer or mid-mount grader blades. I personally prefer to use a manual lift tractor for my grader blade (solid link) so I have better control over the cutting/grading. I use the chain on my 416H / dozer blade so I don't have to replace a lot of sod in the spring. :hide:
dave s 0 #3 Posted December 15, 2008 In other words,I'll leave well enough alone and keep the chain. Thanks dave s
