So now that it's spring it's a great time to score bargains on snow blowers. Found this Ariens Deluxe 30 for sale in Massachusetts by a couple who were moving to California for a great price. They all have a torque and CC rating instead of hp so my 9 foot pounds of torque Briggs on the 24" unit was only 6.3hp. Not enough in my opinion. Ken B 3,116 #6 Posted May 5, 2016 Nice Score Mike. I bought a new Ariens Deluxe 28 for use at work. It has the Lifan Torque 12 engine on it. The engine runs good but it is under powered. The old Ariens with the 10 hp Tecky Snow King has way more nut. Happily, I was able to add that one to my snow team at home! Here is a picture of the old one... I used This This engine which is designed as a direct bolt-in for the older Ariens blowers . The Small Engine Warehouse has a page for repowering old equipment . My blower is a 24" cut .
