HF gun, good old Rustoleum Regal Red thinned with acetone. I use a regulator at the gun with an inline desiccant dryer before that to keep out oil/water. I have a water separator on the wall outlet, but I don't completely trust it. Wipe down with a tack cloth before starting. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

squonk 38,844 #18 Posted March 10, 2016 You have a red floor just like me! Best way to keep out the moisture is plumb your air with metal lines to give the air a chance to cool and condense the water so the traps can stop it. Heated air in the tank expands as it leaves releasing some moisture. That's the stuff that causes the issue. Cooling it (or trying to cool it below dewpoint will get it all out. I paint with an HVLP electric turbine. The turbine warms the air and evaporates the moisture before it gets to the gun. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Zeek 2,284 #19 Posted March 11, 2016 (edited) The air comes about 30' by hardline across the garage from the other side, but mine still gets a little damp if you run the compressor hard.
