Fuel/Water Separator 3392

Recommended Posts

I've never changed a fuel/water separator, as a buddy gave me his 1998 523Dxi tractor. I don't know if he has either and I'm in the process of doing a lot of maintenance. Any advice?

Thx

That would be a really easy filter to change. Used to change the one on my Rabbit diseal pickup.  Screw off, screw the new one on. And you can also drain the current filter and get an idea about how much water has been in there.  My experience when doing that was seeing a few drops of water on the bottom of the filter.

I have a 523Dxi and I prefer the Toro part for the filter instead of the Napa version. The reason is the Toro part has a metal T handle. When you change the filter, fill the new one with diesel fuel before installing it. Also one side of the fuel system will flow with the filter off so expect a slight mess.

OK, that's what I heard that you have to fill the filter up with fuel first.

Thanks for the feedback.
