Old Movie Help

Recommended Posts

mattd860

Ok I need some help here. About 20-25 years ago while I was visiting my grandmother and there was a movie on TV about the son of an American or British Diplomat or Businessman in Russia and the son was arrested and the majority of the movie was about his time in Russian prison. I remember certain parts vividly but I cannot remember the majority of it. Based on my recollection the movie was probably filmed between the late sixties to the eighties but I could be vastly incorrect. The son may have been arrested on trumped up drug charges if that helps.

So... Does anyone recall seeing a movie such as this and remember the name of it? I'd be interested in seeing it again.

... I just inadvertently came across another movie that I haven't seen in 20 years called Night Crossing by Disney and all of a sudden I started remembering this other Russian movie. The sad part is that even when I watched the Russian movie 20-25 years ago I never knew the title since it was on TV and in the 'old days' there wasn't a TV guide or channel information to identify programming.

That would make you 3-8 years old when you saw the movie, by your profile information

My profile isn't 100 percent correct so as to protect my true identity as a CIA special agent.  Doh! I wasn't supposed to say that!

But seriously I was not 3 years old. More like 10 or 11 when I saw it.

It's the Connecticut guys...they are still..."1 if by land and 2 if by sea.""  Matt, I did a search as well...hard to find out with the information you gave.  Craig may have nailed it for you.  Hope your son is OK.  :)

No that's not it either. The movie was very similar to the Gulag movie mentioned above where the guy went to prison somewhere where it was extremely cold. I believe he got moved around a couple times. I remember one scene where they were marching him somewhere in the extreme cold where prisoners commonly fell over dead so he decided to pretend like he died so he fell over and rolled off the path that they were marching him on and the soldiers didn't bother shooting because they figured he was a goner. I believe it was at that point he made his successful escape.

I remember another scene where he was moved to a new cell full of inmates and as soon as he entered inside the cell he pulled a guy off one of the top bunks and started yelling 'My Bunk.. My Bunk!'. I think earlier he was robbed of his bunk and the only way he could survive was to act tough so the inmates would stop messing with him.

Now, I want to see this movie . . . .

someone will find it, there are those that have a photo memory for these things.

Not me, this is what I have, it's the  C-Nile Virus:

Unstoppable Virus

https://sites.google.com/site/sundayfamilyhumour9/sunday-family-humour-22nd-november/virus.jpg?attredirects=0

thought you would want to know about this e-mail virus.
Even the most advanced programs from Norton or McAfee cannot
take care of this one. It appears to affect those who were born prior to 1955.

Symptoms:
1. Causes you to send the same e-mail twice.

Done that!

2. Causes you to send a blank e-mail!
That too!

3. Causes you to send e-mail to the wrong person.
Yep!
4. Causes you to send it back to the person who sent it to you.
Aha!
5. Causes you to forget to attach the attachment.
Well well!
6. Causes you to hit "SEND" before you've finished.
Oh, no not again!
7. Causes you to hit "DELETE" instead of "SEND."
And I just hate that!
8. Causes you to hit "SEND" when you should "DELETE."
Oh No!

IT'S CALLED THE "C-NILE VIRUS."            (Not the D-Nile Virus or A-Nile Virus)

Have I already sent this to you?
Or
did you send it to m
e?

Cents I've been home sick (and the untimely death of George Kennedy) I youtubed for one of my favorite movies of the 80's yesterday.

Steel with Lee Majors , Kennedy, Art Carney and Jennifer O'Neil. Talk about hair! The Wild Samoans wish they had that hair! :)

That really is funny but I can relate to it. My grandaughter helps me with my computer all the time. She probably feels that way about me but she is always very nice. If she wasn't around to help me I would probably be very confused.  :confusion-confused:

For me that role reversal started when my granddaughter was about five, ever since then she has been teaching me how things should be done.

Once you have Grandkids, you wouldn't give them up, you don't even want to share the or give the back to their parents (who didn't seem as cute when they were little kids, or we were so busy working-living we didn't pay enough attention). Plus, when the diapers are full, we can just send the grandkids home.

Kids today are just born with one finger out ready to start computering, somehow they just know these things, or at least seem to get it on the first few instant tries.  I can't even see their fingers move, it's a blur, the go so fast with one finger.
