SylvanLakeWH 24,077 #1 Posted February 28, 2016 Lights on my C 105 simply stopped working. One day they worked...next they didn't. Everything else works fine. Fuse is ok. All connections appear to be good. Not an electrical type guy so any help appreciated. (My bright (pardon the pun) idea of "fixing" it is simple - go straight to the battery...but I have other things on my to do list...) Thoughts? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

rmaynard 14,860 #8 Posted February 28, 2016 Since both lights went out at the same time I wouldn't suspect the bulbs. If it's not the fuse, I would have to guess it's a bad ground. Since the lights are grounded through the hood, my guess is that the hood ground is bad. I'm not sure where the hood ground point is, but on earlier models it was through the pivot assembly. 5 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
pfrederi 17,116 #9 Posted February 28, 2016 I started running a wire from one of the hood hinge bolts to an engine mounting bolt to assure a better ground. Put a disconnect in it so you can remove the hood if you need to. 3 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,478 #14 Posted March 2, 2016 Found where the 101639 fuse is listed as SAE 20 but likely should be SFE-20 amp fuse for the lighting circuit. Not knowing the gauge of the wire maybe try a 10 amp fuse. Garry Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

SylvanLakeWH 24,077 #16 Posted March 5, 2016 Yes fans! No ground issue. The PO threaded the wire THROUGH the hinge for the hood. Over time the rubbing motion at the hinge wore through the wire.
