I use ag tires on my b-80 and mowed lawn with it. Never really had an issue with it tearing up the lawn. They are loaded and have wheel weights. Ive gone up to 23x10.50-12 on original wheel horse rims. I prefer the 23x8.50-12 size tires myself personally.

:WRS:    As long as your lawn is well established and hasn't got soft spots got soft spots you will be fine with ags.

I run these and love em! Mine are the wider 10.5s.

Mike....

I second these.  Been running these for 2 years now.  Great traction on turf as well as blacktop.  Will go anywhere without spinning or ripping up the soil.

For all purpose tires, they are great.

What size deck are you running? My 42" side discharge would not work with the wider tires because the tires would hit the deck wheels.

This tractor rarely see's a mower deck but when I did run a deck with these tires I ran a 42 RD...it was close but didn't hit.

I had problems with traction on hills in my yard with the original turf tires on my B-80.  I put on AGs and problem solved.  Been running them for 20 years now.   I noticed that if you do spin a tire, the turfs will leave a bigger spot in the yard than the AGs also.

Here is a pic of my B-80 (long frame) with 23 X 8.50 AGs. It's a 36 RD deck.  I would think it would clear the 42 RD deck also.  I don't have any mowers on any of my tractors now or I'd get a better pic and measure the clearance.

I think it would partially matter depending on which brand of tires you buy i find that deestones run smaller than other brands. I like bkt ag tires myself

How do you like the rib front tires on the B-80?

I love them there 4.00-8 deestone tri ribs. They steer great in the snow mud and dirt. Best tire for the money. There a tube type tire.

If you run chains you might have a clearance issue with the fenders from the 10.50s maybe.  I cannot say for certain, none of my tractors have 10.50s. Most websites have specs of their tires where you can find out the overall diameter.

I mounted my 10.5's on a set of wide rims off a 520 with the correct offset and although I don't run chains they would clear the fender and under-fender fuel tank.

The one negative is, I think, a 42" snow blade when angled (sectored) is narrower than the 23x10.50-12 tires. Wheel Horse started selling the 48" snow blade for the 1990 -on 520-H to fix the issue..
