A pair of matching Deestones on the front of your Horizon would make that picture " Picture Perfect " !

That brings back memories! My first company car car was an '83 Dodge Omni. Not much of a road car but just the thing for darting around in Chicago traffic.

You brought back bad memories of the non-stop carb issues I married into with my wife's Horizon 27.5 years ago...junk...would not drive in the Canadian Rockies and the mechanic in Banff said he saw them DAILY at his shop with carb issues...Only car worse was the Dodge minivan with the transmission from the netherworld and a company that three times said they "have no issues with our minivan transmissions"!!! Will never own a Chrysler product again.

:twocents-02cents:

I had a Chrysler salesman tell me he would never buy a Chrysler, that the transmissions were crap.

What do you expect when your top pitchman talks funny and hangs around with a midget in a white suit! 5351055862avatar.gif.315d071bdfb6d4bd4c4  :confusion-shrug:

I have tears in my eyes from laughing. The Wrath of Ricardo Montalban, I mean Khan was just on TV the other afternoon. We watched it at camp while playing cards!

Remember that my Mother's Horizon is driven at least twice a month and she has averaged about 500 miles a year in it since 1994 when my father passed away. Each year that mileage average goes down. Way down! I will do everything in my power to keep it passing inspections and road worthy for her. Even in a small car, all you see is the top of her head and 8 knuckles on the steering wheel when she is driving it! I wouldn't have it any other way!

Oh and I know three of us lost years off our life rebuilding that damn carburetor!  Thanks for the comments you guys! I know when she drives it to Walmart, people walk up to her in the parking lot and tell her how they used to own one. Or two! That was the only vehicle my father ever bought new. (And he was the head bodyman at a Chevy dealer). Go figure!

He bought it because he liked fixing things! :)

if you think the Horizon / Holley carbs were a PITA, the 2.6 Mitzujunkies were worse. In the summer the carb would get so hot the fuel would boil so you had to put a heat shield on it. Then in the winter, you had to take it off or the carb would freeze!

My buddy had an old Horizon when we were in High School back in the late 80's.  We took that thing everywhere and ran it full throttle coming and going.  It was a manual and we could really get going down these gravel roads.  You could fit fishing poles in the back, but had to put a curve in them unless you wanted them riding with you up front.  :D  Miss those days.

Steve, you'd be DaBomb in a light blue Plymouth Turismo! :)

Believe it or not, I drove an 84 Rampage for a couple of years!

I worked at a Mopar dealer in the eighties, we had one of these as a parts chaser.  It was a pretty good vehicle.
