They are both on the nest this morning.  Mamma's cleaning the nest while Pappa's  having breakfast.

How can you tell which one is Mamma? I she the largest one?

Also, it seems they are both irritated with one stick that they just can't move. It's fun to watch the level of frustration involved in getting the nest just as they want it.

From what I've read the female is the largest. I agree they just can't seem to arrange that stick the way they want it. They have been picking at that one stick for several days. I just watched the Female ( I think ) eat a squirrel. Wonder if It's that pesky squirrel that has been fooling around in their nest.      :confusion-confused:

I told my wife this morning that a squirrel poked his head into the nest, then backed out quickly just as both eagles flew in. I think he may have become breakfast.

That's right Bob.    The females are bigger and they talk more.  :hide:

Yeah, I thought I heard the bigger one asking "do my tail feathers look big in this outfit?"

Looks like the internet feed went down sometime overnight. No camera this morning.

I just had it a few minutes ago Bob.   Nothing in the nest but the blood stains in the snow.

Just got home Bob.....I had to make an oyster run. This is our  annual oyster pie weekend.

I'll check the eagle site. but I probably missed them again.  We are only a few days from last years first egg date.

She's feasting on what appears to be a dove just now.

I guess ice fishing is not in season.

They made short work of their breakfast. Tried a little more housekeeping, and both flew off at 6:55.

I have noticed they spend more time at the nest lately. I think that might be a sign that an egg is coming before too long.     :confusion-confused:

I hope they get rid of the snow before dropping the egg(s). With the temperatures hovering 10 degrees this morning, not much chance of that.
