Right on Slammer. It was service bulletin #348 issued about 20 years after the tractors were made. I guess it too that long before time got to the gaskets enough that they finally reacted to it. You don't see many of those little boxes in place of the battery either but I think it was standard on the recoil start tractors that year. Very cool!

You be happy to know Tom I gave a certain 400 a oil down last nite. Used a  Teflon wd40 like lube to remove the surface rust followed by the linseed....does look cool ...gets some pics today and on my thread.

By the way that pic of your boy on it is way cool ....

It's hard to hear that one called "ruff" considering the shape of the few we find in Texas!

What's with the black spot on the hood, some kind of  exhaust leak? Unlike me cleaned up real nice.... Be  willing to bet you got a steal on  it too with the plow. Rims & tires look good.

Because the PO was to lazy to put the proper muffler on it. I do plan on fixing it back to normal but they welded the exhaust flange on so i,m going to have to get my cutting wheel out and my air compressor is broke so im going to do it the hard way

If I remember right, it was on a 753. Been a while. I almost threw it away at the time, thinking someone had stuck it in the tank and cut up the tank in the process. So never toss anything. :)  Makes a good display though.
