MaineDad 85 #5 Posted December 1, 2008 heck of a snow fighting team, but that garage really could use a.......... couple more horses! Look closer at the 314-8 picture. You can see the 753 in the back corner hiding. So far so good with the C-160 bugs. Running real good right now. Crossing my fingers and toes :D
sorekiwi 761 #6 Posted December 1, 2008 So far so good with the C-160 bugs. Running real good right now. Crossing my fingers and toes Was just wondering about that engine problem you had Micah, what did you find?
MaineDad 85 #7 Posted December 1, 2008 Was just wondering about that engine problem you had Micah, what did you find? Put a new carb on and it leaked gas like crazy. The float had a tab on it that prevented it to go all of the way up. I took the float off the old carb and put it on instead and presto! Runs real good right now. Crossing my fingers and toes i see the 753 now. looks like you restored it. hope you finished the job by painting the front wheels too! Rollerman 290 #12 Posted December 2, 2008 Nice pair you have there Micah.... I'd like to find one of those later style of snowblowers with the tall chute. Going to the dealer saturday for a new cable for my chute....PITA! One thing I'm curious about with the tall chutes...they have skids underneath & no wheels correct? How is it for lugging around in the off season without the wheels?
MaineDad 85 #13 Posted December 2, 2008 Stephen, If you look at the picture of the 314-8, near the 753 in the corner, there is a wooden framed dolly that I built to move the blower around. It has castor wheels that swivel which makes it real easy to move around. The worm gear to turn the chute is so much better than the wire turning mechanism. I found this snow thrower at a Toro dealer 3 years ago when they were going out of business. It's a 1996 model that was still in a crate never assembled. The C-160 was for sale on craigslist. Now that it runs sweet, I decided to keep it instead.
