I have been hurting for 25 years, and I am only 56. Came back from vacation and my hip has been killing me for 3 days. Didn't injure it that I remember, I think it is just from sitting on the plane and at airports for so long.

I figured my wife's plate would cause issues, but they send everyone through the scanners at Buffalo, and also at Denver, so no problem. However, they did not like the hot/cold pack we took. It is filled with clay, and they said on the XRay, it looked like explosives. Probably C4. On the way back, we checked it in our luggage, and when I got home, there was a note that they had checked our luggage, and the hot/cold pack had been examined.

I feel left out because I don't have a computer image of a chest X-ray showing the wires that put my sternum back together when I had my two heart valves replaced. They glow like crazy. The valves don't show that much, they are artificial, some sort of high tech material but not carbon fiber. I like to brag about having serial numbers for body parts.

Everytime I ask, the MDs assure me they (the valve design) was rigorously tested. I keep asking how they don't wear out since each valve has 4 contact points (2 on each flap) that are rubbing on each heart beat since 1998 and supposedly will out last me (I am 63 now) So I don't care about having one of the early run units. I just want the damn things to work (which they continue to do).

I went for a brain scan the other day. They didn't find anything! :)

Never asked.  Always assumed they were. Whatever, they are still working!!!!!!

I do get some conversation mileage out of "body parts with serial numbers" line. One good thing that came out of that surgery (besides being alive).

I just have a little plate and four screws in my neck for two years now. May be getting too old to cut the mustard but I can still lick the jar!

It isn't so much what day of the week -- It is "Did I take my meds for the day yet?"

The pill box provides the proof!!
