I think I found a 56, but not sure. Is there any other differences between the 55 and the early 56 ?

Best to post some pics of your machine to get accurate information about that particular tractor.

I don't have any picture of the tractor yet. I just located it yesterday and was trying to identify what model it might be

Don, if the deal is right I'd suggest just buying it. RJ's are getting hard to find and if it's got a cast steering wheel it's likely a goodie. Deal with the details when it's yours. :)

By the way......:WRS:

Don, If you haven't done so, be sure to educate yourself prior to buying it so you don't get fooled. I have seen lots of Suburbans and others passed off as RJs on C's list and Flebay. Take a look at lots of RJ-35 postings on here so you know what to look for.

Now that's some good advice Richard. I certainly didn't think about that. As always.....some pictures would do wonders. There's probably a couple guys here that could help identify it.  :)

You do have a lot of cleaning to do, but it is a rather complete '56 or '55 RJ 35, it even has the optional brakes and recoil starter. If you have not read up on the use of an"E Tank" it would be a good idea to do so, you are going to need one.

PS NAPA has the gallon size PB Blaster on sale for  $23.99

It was being used a s a mailbox holder when I found it. They had the mailbox mount on top of the hood.

It's gonna be fun to follow this one. I'm thinking starting with a pressure washer first. That's a great find.

Wow that is a cool one. Also look forward to seeing how it cleans up. I would consider this one a mid to late 56 rj35 due to the new style hitch and additional support bracket on the veri drive bracket.

This would make the most incredible ever BEFORE and AFTER picture series if it were gloriously restored!  Seriously!  This has what it takes!  I doubt that we will ever see such a desecrated Wheel Horse legend!  And what a glorious resurrection this could be!

Take a TON of pictures now!  In good lighting!  First light before sunrise, just after sunset or overcast but still bright days are best.  Shadows are no good!  Then follow through with every step of the restoration!  Some may think that your bird crapped on WH is funny but trust me, you have a jewel!  Document this thoroughly!  Don't wash it before you take pictures!

The RJ58 was the big hit for spectators this year at my local festivals here in Carroll County OH.
the children loved getting their pictures sitting on it, then they discovered the bicycle horn under the steering wheel. It’s always a joy even in parades. Just love showing off part of my collection every year and hearing all the stories from those that had WH in their lives at one time. Can hardly wait to get to retirement so I can get some of my other models back to their glory in working order and be able to attend other shows/festivals throughout the year. My fellow tractor enthusiasts always know when a spectacular starts asking about WH, they point in my direction. I study up on the history of the different models and always intrigue those that didn’t know much about how WH came to be. This website is one place that has helped me learn so much about the WH history and I thank you for sharing your knowledge that I am able to pass on to keep WH alive and well.

Well got my new weight yesterday!  My valentines gift from my husband now has the front weight less likely to pop those wheelies!!!!  There might be enough power still but doubt it…. He bought me the RJ from David in Arkansas a few years back we posted on the trip!  The moment we saw the ad on here about the front weight we had to have it!  Seize the moment, don’t know when ever come across another for sell…!  So here I just wanted to share pictures of it!  My tractor is a bit dirty from winter setting but i wipped it down just a little for the photo opt!!
