I have been working on it as much as I can ,I got both c160 apart and now I'm in the process of cleaning and painting
as you can see by the before and after pictures I'm going as fast as I can, now what I need is a diagram of how to reassemble
the 5088 transaxle
. does the bolts face left or right on the differential. all the diagrams I have do not show the bolts. And
what is the torque specifications for the differential..it not going to be a show  piece but it will look like a nice wheel horse.

You rebuild the trans in the shallow side of the case.  The nuts on the differential have to face the deeper side of case...brake drum side...or left side.  Use new nylon nuts and just tighten them all the same...probably around 12 to 15 foot pounds.  :)  Did you down load that manual that was in a post on page 1 of your thread??

Fabricate something like this to hold your trans case when you start to put it back together.

Yes I did get all the manuals I could for my tractor .all the pictures in the repair manual just show a diagram but none
show which way the bolts go .I read that if you don't put the differential in the right way it could damage the trans.
the bolts will hit the gears I have watched a lot on you tube about transaxles and not one is for the 4.010
some one said it was a 5088 transaxle .
   thank you steveasaurus

I plan on it WHX5 been doing a lot of work to the old girl. I got the frame fixed and painted, this is the frame from the 1977 and it
was broken in half . the guy bolted a 1/2" plate to the bottom 2 bolts on the axle plate , it was about 8"   long and almost touched
the ground for a plow . well he hit something and broke the 2 bottom bolts off in axle. (some people are so dumb) I fixed it and
decided to use it for my build. I've  got the axle back together and now  I'm cleaning everything and painting as I go. this is what I've
got so far ,a lot of work but will be a nice horse.  by the way who is good with kohler k341 engines , I have a problem with mine
NEED ADVICE ON KOHLER K341. In the last 2 pictures the governor pin is bent don't know how he did but I would like to replace
it what is involved to get old one out ?? and I found this c clip lying under lifters  someone said it is from c clip holds the valve rotator together
manuals are not that good about explaining how to fix it.

Sorry so late on the draw on this but here's some excellent gasket maker Toyota uses called FIPG that will be great for a Wheel Horse case sealant.  Part numbers -- Toyota Seal Packing 103 (FIPG) 00295-00103  --.

I do my timing belt & water pump on my Tundra every 100k and the first time I went to get parts I learned Toy rarely uses gaskets. Believe it or not Toy uses no oil pan or water pump gaskets at all on most engines, you just put a thin layer of FIPG on both sides and mate things together and let me tell you this stuff is excellent. It sets up very fast and not once have I ever had a leak with it on anything. My Tundra now has 348k miles and not a leak one anywhere so they certainly know something others don't. :confusion-scratchheadblue:???

Not the cheapest sealant, not by any means but it works fast & real easy to use and the best thing is it works the very first time. There are other companies making their own version of FIPG that's cheaper, myself I just never cared because this one works so good. I certainly never want to tear my Tundra water pump down twice over saving a few bucks on a sealant. :angry-steamingears:

Sorry late on the draw, been busy unpacking, still moving in here.

After using my 8-25 mower successfully for several years I noticed the belts were very worn. I replaced the belts and used the mower several mowings this past summer with no problems until as I was mowing the last time the mower would not move in any gear. After stopping and inspecting the traction belt it was almost completely destroyed. Prior to this I had noticed that the engage/disengage lever was getting hard to activate (very stiff). Has anyone had a similar thing happen?
Thanks in advance for any help on this problem.
Just want to keep my mower running.

I’m trying to restore my grandfathers old 252-H to use around my property. The tires are shot and the rims aren’t too far behind. Anyone have any recommendations for rims and tires that would fit well on it?

      right now it has 22 x 7.50 - 12 on the back and 15 x 6 - 6 on the front.

Newb here, recently purchased a b310 that now runs with snow thrower, plow, and mower deck for what I believe to be a good deal for $200. My question to all y’all gurus is what am I missing for my snow thrower attachment? I’d like to get it squared away before winter I know I’m going to need a belt and chain any help would be greatly appreciated.

I recently acquired a 520xi. She's a pretty sweet machine and I took a liking to her before she landed in my garage. I've used her a few times this spring to haul some brush around in her trailer.
As the grass grew taller, however, I knew it was time to put the deck on her and start mowing. Note: this is my first wheelhorse, and also this was the first time I'd mown with her. Anyway, I did about half an hour of mowing (about half of my lawn), having turned her pto on and off a few times for various reasons, when at some point I turned the pto off to back out from between the dead-end swath between 2 trees I had just mown. I backed out, turned around, lined myself up to get back on track with the mowing, pulled the pto knob, and....nothing. Or so I thought at first.
There is a quiet, though definitely present sound whenever I pull the pto knob on. At first I thought the blades might be stuck or something and the drive belt was sliding on the pto pulley. After some inspection, I found it wasnt. I prooved it wasn't by taking the drive belt off the pto and trying to turn the pto on. I still hear that same sound and the engine acts slightly stressed when I turn the pto on.
One last thing. I turned the engine off, took the front grill off the tractor and tried to turn the pto pulley. It moves but is stopped by some kind of what looks like a safety stop (a bar on the pulley hitting a bar in the way).
Anyway, this is where I'm at. If anyone knows or has any idea why what's happening is happening and/or how to fix it Id appreciate it very much.
