fuel pump rebuild

Can you rebuild a Kohler fuel pump or should I just buy a new one :hide:

Jake-I don't think the rebuild kits are still available. I got mine from NAPA at a reasonable price. They can look it up by application in their Small Engine Cataloge. AL

I dont think the kits have been available for a few years now.

But since you have nothing to lose, you may as well pull it apart and see whats wrong - make sure there's no crap stuck in the check valves. I've successfully stopped a couple leaking by lapping the pump halves on some 600 grit wet and dry on a piece of glass.

Be prepared for a shock when you price a new one....

:hide: Could you not use an electric fuel pump, i had to buy one not to long ago and you could get one that pumps with very little pressure, I didn't know this until i had to buy one. they make them to pump any pressure. :D

I took it apart and cleaned it out and now it works. Good thing I didn't Buy one! :D :horseplay: :banana: :hide:

Other than the diaphragm what wears out in the pumps? is the shaft connected to the diaphragm? wonder if a rebuild kit could be made?
