Nice tractor.

I think back in 64, they would have been the almond color.

That 854 is "loaded".  Nice options like hydraulic lift, seat back and HL-5 headlights.  Must have set the original owner back a pretty penny with all those options.  Pretty rare combination, nice find!

That is one nice 854. One of my favorite models. I had one when we lived in Indiana that I restored. It was my parade tractor with the HL-5 headlights and seat back but no hydraulics. I'm pretty sure the wheels were white.  :handgestures-thumbupright:

I've got a photographic memory but my problem is that I'm out of film so I research things to clear the cobwebs. In 1964 Wheel Horse shows two paint colors on their accessories price list. Red of course and ivory. I'm thinking Rustoleum linen beige was used by a lot of guys. I also saw that the headlight kit was a HL-22. The HL-5 came out in 1965. The bad thing about the HL-22 was that the lights required holes in the hood   We all know the downside to looking at those old price lists............. :crying-yellow:

Nice horse and attachments. Off white, almond, linen beige is the proper color for the rims, (white doesn't really look good anyhow). 854 is my favorite horse!!

That's a nice deck, it appears to be a 32" cut.  I believe it's a newer deck than an RM324 deck which would have been available in '64.  I think that deck is a '66 or '67 model.  Someone more knowledgeable than me can confirm.

Im in the process of restoring an 854. I need a hood in good condition to really finish up the body. I also didnt know they offered hydro lifts, that would be soooooooooo cool to have! Im also in need of tires, but holy smokes they costs as much as full grown tires!
