Nope. That's Ford doing that. I did read an article stating that GM was in the process of securing aluminum contracts and may go that route in 2017 or 2018.

Nice truck Craig :handgestures-thumbupright:

I know it is a FORD thing....wonder what made me think that photo was a FORD?

Senior moment I guess!

Quite a lot of aluminum vs. steel truck ads on TV.

If GM makes an aluminum truck in a few years, how they expect to sell it saying "steel is so much better" now!!

:woohoo:   â€‹Heated seats are great, even in the summer. If you have a bad back and go for a long drive, turn those babies on, very therapeutic!

I understand the senior moment thing. :)

GM was getting somewhat serious about an aluminum body a few years ago but they decided to table it because it was so risky. Now they are rethinking it. They know lighter means fuel savings and the government regs are getting tighter every year. Ford being a guinea pig opened up that file again. As far as the GM ads touting steel vs aluminum it's strictly a sales thing this year. Maybe steel is better but all any of the manufacturers care about is saying that their product is the best thing going for the given year. This isn't a Ford/Chevy/Dodge thing. The American trucks are all great but we all have our experiences and preferences. That's the way it should be.

Speaking of old ( and I do't mean me!  :) ) Might as well include my 2006 Tundra with 165,000 miles on the clock. I'd buy another one in a minute.

Since you all are throwing up your work horses, I figure I would throw another brand into the mix. (I am loyal to my brand, but I DO respect and enjoy all decently built pickup trucks. No hate here)

2008 I purchased in 2010. Only 2WD but I got it at a price in which I could trade it in today for over 70% of what I paid.

Waiting to see the New Super duty's, from what I here the Super Duty's are suppose to be aluminum also. So my thoughts are 2017 Super Duty will probably be my last New truck. The 12' has xlt equipment so I'm going to step up to either a Lariat or possibly the King Ranch. I'm kind of hoping they bring the Lightning back. I would use that for getting around town besides that I have a few little dodge trucks that think they can't be beat!!! Let them dream! Sorry Craig, but I had too!!

I still love that sticker! :handgestures-thumbupright:   I think I have to find one for my truck!

:teasing-poke:

I just worry about the rear sliding window killing the smoothness of the sticker.
