252H 6 #1 Posted April 1, 2015 (edited) Hi all, i haven't been on here much so im not sure if this is the right section but my 252H steering went out and i need a new steering gear. Does anyone have a 252 or 257 parts tractor because i really need to fix my garden tractor. If not where can i get a steering gear? Thank you :-) Edited April 1, 2015 by 252H

Don1977 604 #6 Posted April 1, 2015 (edited) On the garden tractors you can place shim washers behind the carter pin to tighten the steering. A new carter pin that just fits the hole will help to, as they get bent and worn. Haven't look at at one of those I guess they are the same. Unless it's really worn shimming usually fixes it. The upper steer column can also cause problems as the hole in the hood stand wares allowing the column to move around. The 300, 400, and 500 series garden tractors have the same problem.
