(UPDATE: As Peter notes in the comments below, “Tanaka was not exactly “a survivor of the bombing of Hiroshima †— when the bomb was dropped, he was at home, about 20 miles from the site. He saw a light and heard a distant rumble, but was personally unaffected by the bomb.â€)

A lot of food for thought in this collection of photos Glen.  I was born in 1949...I am starting to know what my Grandpa felt like when people talked about the old days (he was 93 when he passed about 15 years ago).  Can you imagine the tabloids if Michel Obama sat on Mr T's lap now a-days??  :)  Brutal for sure.  :)

Thanks, Glen. I love this stuff! Reminds me when I went to the doctor's or Dentist's office when I was a kid and leafed through the Life Magazines.
