Neighborly Advice

Recommended Posts

So my neighbor who has push mowed his yard for like forever, it seems, has just brought home a new Craftsman lawn tractor. It looks like an auto tranny style with some kind of twin cylinder motor. Well I heard him mow for the first time with it and after awile it was starting to sound like it was workin real hard and the motor was luggin down. Turned out he was makin a rookie mistake. His tractor has the side discharge deck and he was mowin his front yard in a circle slowly closing it in but blowing the clippings into the circle so he was always re-mowing the allready cut grass as well as the actual grass he was drivin over. Before I could get my boots on and walk over he was done and back inside so the next time I see him out I'll offer some free advice.

Mike....the mowing expert....NOT!

Do the Craftsman come with rear discharge decks, I don't think that I have ever seen one?

I dont think they do. Different widths but all side spitters.
