The plow got lots of use. I didn't use the blower. 5 inches was the most we got at one time with about a foot on the ground at any one time. Very cold here but not a lot of snow.

6.0 powerstroke

Lots of seat time, seemed like 2-3 storms a week last month. Everything held up good despite the bitter cold. Glad to see the snow piles melting, I was running out of room to push!

I used the blower and plow this year. Had 2 horses ready to go. Single stage on the 520h with a C series cab. Cramped but it worked.

A little accumulation came down again last night...

just some nuisance snow, maybe only two inches total.

Did not use the tractor with the blower but only for about 5 min. mostly just plowed.post-2401-0-96925800-1426942137_thumb.jp had a few drifts to relocate. Had some good snows but nothing to say it was a busy winter.

WH nut

We had just enough to keep the chain and bearings from rusting stuck.

I used my 520Lxi with single stage blower a little bit at the cottage last weekend.

The snow was too deep at about a foot and a half and it was too wet to make any real progress.

The depth of the snow was above the blower and the shoot clogged up a few time so I gave up.

The weight box on the back made a huge improvement in traction.

I paid $45 for the weight box.  I was lucky to even find one.

When I get a chance I will try my 2 stage on my 520H.

If that does not work I will try my D-160 with a plow.

If that does not work I will try my C-81 with a loader but wet snow will stick to the bucket.

If that does not work I will wait for it to melt assuming we ever get a spring or summer this year.

Dry snow blows best. Wet snow like we have during spring not so good.

I took "SALT n  PEPPERS"   advice and pushed it real good.  Yesterdays 5" wet heavy snow  was perfect for the plow.   Sorry about the green Yammy. but it does have a red WH blade.

That pic looks almost 3 D. It really is a crisp picture. I could see this one considered for calendar too.

That is an advertisement for installing a cab, if I ever saw one!

The most fun seat time-wise was using the C-105. I got a flat tire plowing one snowfall so it finished the season with the spare set of 23x10.50-12 turfs on the rear. Too wide for the 42" blade though! I never did put chains on this season. Poncho only got used one time, to try his new decals. Because of the amount of snow we had this year I didn't even get to use the Gravely snow cannons. Either a small amount for Hopalong with a plow, or enough for the snowthrower on Paladin, the Dxi.

Good thing I didn't have one. I don't think the neighbors would have appreciated me blowing snow up onto their roofs!  :) 107109581avatar_zpsikexz08u.gif

Only had to plow once this winter,  :woohoo:  but as steep as our driveway is we would have been stranded without my  :wh: .

Jack:

You should not have an issue with that set-up. The 518xi and single stage chewed through exactly what you described with ease. I did need to take smaller bites when it was in the 12 to 14" range, but it handled the stuff just fine..... One thing I keep mentioning is SNO-JET.... Coat it good and it's just like water being sprayed on a freshly waxed car. Rolls right off!
