Save Old Iron 1,563 #27 Posted March 20, 2015 The only safety light that is on is the engine oil which is flashing, Flip the test lights switch - do the other indicator bulbs light up?
boovuc 1,090 #28 Posted March 20, 2015 I replaced just the burnt connectors on my nine pin and it made all the difference. You can replace each wire but it really is better to buy the Molex connector(s) and do it right from the start. My 416 was hay-wired by the first PO and it ran but without using one of the two relays and you had to start it by hitting the key switch multiple times until it had enough current to activate the starter. Once I repaired that 9 pin and fixed the re-wire the PO did, it runs very well and always starts with a fully charged battery. (Of course there is no way I should have made that statement without any real wood to knock on as I type)!
Save Old Iron 1,563 #29 Posted March 20, 2015 (edited) Is the plastic shell deformed or is this just dielectric grease on the plastic? A properly functioning indicator board draws about 1/2 to 3/4 of an amp max when all lights are on - much less if the indicator board is the newest LED version. If the connector appears melted, you may have a shorted indicator pcb, which may be shorting out your signals from the safety switches to ground. Try starting the tractor without the melted connector plugged in. Edited March 20, 2015 by Save Old Iron
aaubrey96 0 #30 Posted March 20, 2015 (edited) That did work. i patched that light blue wire into the other 2 and plugged that connector back in and it runs again. Edited March 20, 2015 by aaubrey96

Save Old Iron 1,563 #32 Posted March 20, 2015 the clutch wiring appears to be spliced together at the connector - so the clutch switch signal was disabled from reaching the starter relay
aaubrey96 0 #33 Posted March 20, 2015 It's a hydro?

rmaynard 14,888 #35 Posted March 20, 2015 If you decide to replace the connector, one side only, or both, I have some of these kits that include both male, female and replacement .093" pins. These are direct replacements for the Wheel Horse connectors, and allow you to have a correct fit if you only need to replace one side of the connector. You will need a pin remover, and an open barrel crimp tool. PM me if you need a kit.
