I have a project I started a few years ago and I am back on it again. I have a 8 hp K181s on 3 speed no name 1973. I have installed it on a 1969 Raider 12 6 speed. Well there was some extra room so I dug out my old project parts and proceeded to fill in the gaps with some non WH parts and now I have a small problem that I need to resolve. I know you all like pictures so I was going to move to better light when my little pony sulled up and wouldn't start. He is a worker and not real pretty so a little camera shy also. Our local small engine repair only sells new starters not parts. What information will I need to get the right busting etc.. thanks in advance for your help. P.S. the extra space he been filled in with a pump and some hoses along with a tank on the front. Hank

This Kohler parts list should cover you for original part numbers.

Aftermarket suppliers like Stens have kits with starter bushings and brushes. Here is a Canadian dealer with a good website

Thanks for the welcome everybody. Thanks for the info Garry. The bushing is worn so a rebuild kit is on the way. I did get it started and checked out the hydraulic lift I just finished mocking up. Lift works great just need to clean up hose routing with pipe. It will be ok for now to do a little yard work. This summer I will be doing a teardown and some repairs then new paint. I have some pictures just need to figure out how to load them.
