scotty 252 #1 Posted January 29, 2015 Can anyone tell how the front lug tires perform on these wheel horses? I got a set of tri ribs on my other b-80 and i like them. I was thinking about putting fronts on my other one. Do they seem to perform well?
GlenPettit 1,714 #2 Posted January 29, 2015 Mine are about equal, have both on two different C-series. Lugs are for Plowing, and the Tri-ribs for plowing and towing, both are weighted with Rim-Guard - - - really need them for rototilling and snow plowing. Forest Road 593 #5 Posted January 30, 2015 I had tractor v tread front and rear once. Looked cool but didn't really care for the steering effort. Went with the Firestone TRI rib on 314 and there's no looking back! Love em mowing and snow blowing. I'd buy another set of TRI ribs if I ever need em. GlenPettit 1,714 #6 Posted January 30, 2015 (edited) Re: RimGuard Any tire store that also does Farm Tractors most likely will have it, but do shop around a little. It should only cost about $2.50–$4/gal, but the fee for filling tires can vary a lot as it does require a special pump; one place charges $12 for filling-pumping first 30 gal (= 4 GT tires), another wanted $9 per tire. Tri-ribs on the front, with weight, make a really huge difference in steering, turning and keeping the front end in control on the ground. scotty 252 #7 Posted January 30, 2015 Sounds like the tri ribs would be the way to go. Thanks!
squonk 38,569 #8 Posted January 30, 2015 (edited) Got Ag's on the front of my C-160. Mounted backwards like they are supposed to be for non driving wheels. Traction is enhanced with out greater steering effort. Pic is with the blower on but they help some with keeping the front end going where I want it when the plow is on and angled Edited January 30, 2015 by squonk
