Wheel Horse Collector 47 #1 Posted January 27, 2015 So I've seen some of these wheel horses with their frames extended and I was wondering if anybody knows how they do it or who do I take it to so they can do it.

grnlark 479 #3 Posted January 28, 2015 Most frames are just heavy angle iron, so stretching the frame is usually just a matter of buying more material and welding it up.
baerpath 517 #4 Posted January 28, 2015 I've seen it done by cutting under the engine and adding on. That way you can extend the front axle out to 56 inch wheel base without changing the belt length, lengthening the front of the frame in front of the hood without adding to wheel base or making complete new frame rails

19richie66 16,879 #6 Posted January 28, 2015 I used two pieces of same angle and welded 1.5" box tubing in the v to strengthen it. And WOW that blue font hurts my eyes.
Keith of kent 45 #7 Posted January 28, 2015 Why not convert to 6X6 as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9Ow4WoN4Gk
SousaKerry 500 #8 Posted January 28, 2015 Took mine to work and put it in the band saw(after disassemble) Cut it roughly in half between the steering sector gear holes and the engine mounts. Added in 2 pieces 6" long angle iron clamped it all down to the welding table and pulled the trigger. Instant 6" longer frame. Now to make the hood longer that is another thread as I still haven't completed it.
