Rj35 help...... Should this be like this??

Took the other hub off today and noticed that the axle spring isn't on the key on both sides like the other side was should I put it back like it was on the other side?

I'm not understanding your question... the paw/spring you have in the pic is the later style set up and looks complete.

The spring was off the paw, and wasn't sure if it was supposed to be like that for some reason, but I put it back on the paw and put it back together. It working fine now

The wire spring should ride on the sheet metal flang which is screwed to the gear case cover, not the paw body. Over the course of time those flanges may have curled over or wore out to a point where the spring just slips off. You may be able to drive without a noticable issue but you will not be posi locked (only one wheel drive) when driving straight if the spring is not riding correctly on the flange.

If you zoom in on the picture I took you can see what the spring rides on... Is that what you are talking about?
