Starter/Generator-Regulator information site

Recommended Posts

Gunny

Ran across this site while looking around for some additional info on Starter/Generator and Regulators used on tractors.

Maybe not a WH site, but I found it very informational.  It actually assisted in saving one of my regulators from going to the "look at later" parts bin.

Thanks for posting the link Dennis. There is some really good info on that site. In fact, it is so good that I have seen some of the content posted here (cut & paste) by one of our members, and all the while, I thought it was his.  :angry-tappingfoot:

I almost cut and pasted, but thought best not to.  The link has a lot of good info on other topics as well.

You cut and pasted a link to the info - I think you have done enough damage for the day!  :ychain:

If you want to go back to the mothership of SG info,

check this out.

I'm sure these folks did a mental copy and paste from the Delco Remy manual who scammed it from Thomas Edison who lifted it from Tesla patents , etc, etc.

Somewhere in caves of Mesopotamia there is a clay pot with lead and copper sitting in lemon juice, shaking , smoking, getting ready to release a curse on anyone who dares hit CTRL V.

You have been warned.

:ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF:  sorry.

i'm on the floor laughing

I would press that icon more times if i could .......  loosing control ...... gasping for air on the floor !!.

I think he grew up in the same neighborhood I did.  People busted your chops if they cared about you. Ignored it if they didn't..

Maybe we should give him an old school lesson in respect for regulators

Wow. Little guy is somewhat of a prick and the other guy looks like the Hue Hefner of mechanics! Is that a lab coat or a smoking jacket?

Oh and it was very interesting SOI. Thank God for transistors/solid state circuitry! (Except the 3 AMP diode charging system in my 310-8 Speed)!

Wow - talk about a flashback! I attended the now long gone RI Trade Shops School for Auto Mechanics in '72-'73. We saw these Master Tech training movies regularly, the same way the Mopar Technicians did, black and white 8mm shown on the wall, complete with scratchy audio .I always thought the voice of Master Tech was done by the same guy that did Popeye.

They patterned the character "Fred" on the I Love Lucy show after that little Tecky guy!  :)

When is the last time you heard

"Hey, someone turn that record over!"

Come to think of it, when is the last time you heard a pop or click while listening to music?

Cool video. Simple but really effective in teaching one about the inner workings of the regulater. One can talk about it for hours , but provide an effective visual such as that one along with narrative and  learning about something sometimes totally foreign to us becomes really easy.

Both of my knees pop and click. Does that count? Nice regulator info.
