Is this bent??

Attached are a few photos of my broken mid rockshaft from my 1969 GT-14.

I think the broken piece is twisted, but I would like some help to confirm or deny my thought.

Hope you can see what I see.

That looks into be at least 14 inch steel no I think its sapost to be bent.that my opinion.

By looking at the pictures to me it looks twisted and likely why it broke. Im sure a crack formed along time ago and recently took its final death blow. It didn't brake at the welds so im going with absolutely twisted.

Picture #2 to me shows the twist rather well

With an offset like this I can see why it twisted

Looks like they added another piece to it in 1971 but does nothing for the offset arm

Have you replaced this part yet Ken?

I had it straighten using a press then welded back together.

I have a photo if it, but I have been having problems logging in to Photobucket on the laptop.

Ken:  Where the break on the part is looks like the start of the twist to me!

Have you figured out how or why that arm twisted in the first place? The welds will be stronger than the mild steel material. So, if you don't correct the original problem, good chance the metal arm will fail again in the future.

I think the lift arm is not directly above the plow lift point. When I lift the plow it hits the front axle. Maybe it is not the correct plow.
