New eaton

Anyone here ever swap out an eaton 700, with a brand new eaton 1100 from the factory? How would one go about doing that for let's say a 518h? What would be needed?

Hi Dan,

You could only swap out a pump and not the whole rear end and that is where the word "new" hits a brick wall.

Your best bet is to find an Eaton 1100 equipped WH Tractor with a blown engine and buy it for the tranny swap. The 700 and 1100 rears are different and of course, I don't think you can find a new WH rear axle for the Eaton 1100 tractors. You could still buy a new Eaton 11 pump. I just don't think it will fit the 700 rear.

I put a 1100 eaton on my 518. It wasent to bad of a job. I had to have longer bolts, a gasket and I plumed in an oil filter for it. Remove all the plugs and lines you can and flush out all the metal fines inside the axel housing.

To add to what these other experts might say....if you do end up buying a new one...there are about 20 different types of eaton 1100 models. Some with clockwise or counter clockwise rotation, different charge pressures and different oil returns, and some even have bushings instead of bearings!

Best to buy one used. I did just that and it WORKS !!

Thanks for the info, looks like I'll be looking for a used one, theres nothing wrong with what I have now, but come spring I will be pulling a dump cart with firewood across my yard, only about 100 feet no hills. I'm sure the 700 eaton can handle it.
