AJ_Thanatos 516 #14 Posted December 12, 2014 (edited) Its perfect for this area. Its big enough to get on the bigger lakes but still small and rugged enough to get on the stump filled rivers up here.. I have quite the dilemma in the warmer months. What do I buy?? Parts for tractors or that new ***** Reese Victory Pro Carbon Rod Really!! I can't say his first name "$keet" Edited December 12, 2014 by AJ_Thanatos

nhunt308 143 #21 Posted December 15, 2014 Great looking ranger by the way, I have been trying to convince the wife that "we"" need" a fishing boat...for a couple years... still don't have one though...
AJ_Thanatos 516 #22 Posted December 15, 2014 I love that boat.. And thank you. Like I was saying it really is perfect for what I want it to do. Its big enough for the bigger lakes that we fish on the tournament schedule and rugged enough for the stump filled rivers and back waters that the glass boat can't get too. Gives me a bit of an advantage sometimes. You can also get that style one size larger that will put you at about 19'. Mine is the 178 so that puts it at just about 18'. Now, mine only has the 60 HP Merc but you can put all the way upto the 125 I think. Maybe only 90 hp..... But i can get the 60 HP upto about 40 mph, which is fast enough for the smaller lakes but I get smoked by the glass boats with the 250 HP power plants. So there is my only disadvantage, I miss out on a couple spots cause they tear by me and beat me to em'. I should have went with 90HP.
nhunt308 143 #23 Posted December 15, 2014 I'm looking aluminum hull also. . I was looking at the Lowe fishing machine. 16 or 17ft. I live on a small private lake and don't need to go very fast. The fish don't have far to run...
