GUYS, I AIR SANDED IT DOWN AND SAND BLASTED A FEW AREAS. ALL BARE METAL WAS PRIMERED AND THEN SPRAYED REGAL RED WITN AEROSOL CANS. IT JUST COST TO MUCH TO MIX PAINTS AND SPRAY ANYMORE. TAPED OFF THE DECALS  I USED 2 CANS OF RED,1/2 CAN OF PRIMER AND DULL ALUMINIUM PAINT.  TOTAL COST $8-$10 IN PAINT. I  DISMANTLE THE WHOLE DECK INCLUDING THE SPINDLES.

I PRESSURE WASHED IT. SPRAYED IT WITH SOME CHEAP STAINLESS STEEL COLOR PAINT.  THE UNDERNEATH WAS IN VERY GOOD SHAPE.

Great work! Nice to see a WH deck well taken care of.

I too use Rustoleum Regal Red. Always on the shelf at Home "Cheapo" and less than four bucks for a rattle can.

Thanks for posting the pic's!   :)

You know I am impressed with the durability of the rustoleum paint. Takes up to a month to fully harden but when it does that is some tough paint. Accidentally spilled some solder on the paint and thought I would have to end up repainting the panel but it scraped right off without leaving a scratch.

Good job.  Looks too nice to mow with.  :)    When I restored my RM-425 deck, I knew I would never mow with it because they're pretty rare now (although it works fine so I could).  I also put it under my 1045 which also precludes me mowing with it.  You'll enjoy mowing with it more now that you put your own T&E into it.

THIS MOWER DECK IS THE ORIGINAL FOR THE 92 310-8 TRACTOR. I'M USING THE TRACTOR FOR CLEANING UP THE LEAVES WITH A OLD 42" DECK WITH A DR VACUUM SYSTEM. I RETIRED MY 82 SK486 FROM LEAF DUTY.  ALL THE FASTNER HARDWARE IS REGULAR STEEL REPAINTED EXCEPT THE BELT COVER SCREWS, THEY ARE NEW.
